With barely four days to the 2007 edition of the Lagos International Film Festival, LIFF, activities have reached the highest point. From all indications and going by the assurances from the organisers, this year's edition of LIFF holding from December 4-7, at the Muson Centre; is set to get a new lease of life indeed. First up, Paris-based Nigerian filmmaker Newton Aduaka will be the Special Guest. Aduaka's film 'Ezra' won the Yennega d'Stallon at FESPACO in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, earlier in the year. While in Lagos, Newton will also conduct a Master class for Nigerian filmmakers. And everyone will have a chance to catch 'Ezra' on the night of December 7, 2007 during the Golden Camel Awards ceremony to end the festival on a high note.
To oversee the smooth running of activities are: Keppy Ekpenyong as master of ceremonies, Segun Arinze and Alex Lopez who will also host some events. Actress Shan George will host the Red Carpet event. Expected in attendance are LIFF's honorary president, Chief Pete Edochie (MON) and co-president Ms Julie Coker. LIFF ambassadors Kanayo O Kanayo and Stephanie Okere will receive the minister for information /communication, Mr John Odey, the special guest of honour; and other guests.
