Andrew Muthure is an actor, singer, director, sound man and also producer.
He started his acting career after high school with the Heartstrings Ensemble (now Heartstrings Kenya) and his first start was in a play titled Caught in the Net, followed a month later by On the Razzle with Phoenix Group.
Some of the shows he has enjoyed acting in and refers to as the highlights of his career include When Did You Last See Your Trousers (Festival of Creative Arts), Sarafina (Sterling Quality), When it Rains (Phoenix by Obiero) and Role Play (by John Sibi Okumu). He especially enjoyed Sarafina because he feels it was the closest he has come to the feeling of a Broadway production.
He has also done other musical shows including a role in Fiddler on the Roof and Changing Generations (Phoenix Theatre) in 2011. He is also an on-screen veteran; he has appeared in several TV shows in the past since the early 2000s.
He appeared in the second season of Better Days as a policeman named ‘John’, a few episodes of Heartbeat FM and Makutano Junction and NTV’s Saints before he finally landed the role of Mustafa, whom he has been portraying for the last five years.
He’s most recent project is Birthday Suite; a play by Festival of Creative Arts. He directs and stars in this play about a married couple whose lives get meshed with two other individuals in one night of twisted fate.
