En 1942, pendant la seconde guerre mondiale, dans un village de Casamance au Sénégal, les Diolas refusent l'intervention extérieure. Une partie des hommes du village a été envoyée, de force, sur le front franco-allemand. Le colonel Armand et son armée coloniale doivent réquisitionner du riz pour l'envoyer aux troupes. En France, De Gaulle succède à Pétain, mais pour l'Afrique rien n'a changé. Responsables des récoltes, les femmes décident cette fois de résister et de cacher le riz. Inspiré d'un fait authentique, l'anéantissement d'un village en Casamance par les troupes coloniales.
