MAMI WATA a fait sa Première Mondiale au Festival de Sundance 2023 (USA) où il a remporté le Prix Spéciale du Jury pour la Direction Photo.
Le film a gagné 3 Prix au FESPACO 2023 (Burkina) : le prestigieux Prix Paulin Vieyra (African Critics Award)2023, ainsi que le Prix de la MEILLEURE IMAGE (Cinematography Award), pour Lílis Soares et le Prix du MEILLEUR DÉCOR (Set Design Award), for Fiery Obasi. Il était nominé pour l'Etalon de Yennenga 2023.
