Le Silicon Valley African Film Festival (SVAFF) encourage la compréhension et la valorisation de l'Afrique et des Africains à travers des images en mouvement. Sur le thème de "L'Afrique à travers la lentille africaine", le festival du film célèbre l'immense richesse du continent africain à travers les films des cinéastes africains chevronnés et émergents.
Pour remplir sa mission, le Silicon Valley African Film Festival :
- Organise un festival de films africains de classe mondiale et permet à son public d'accéder à la richesse, à la diversité et à la vitalité des expressions créatives de l'Afrique.
- Promeut l'alphabétisation culturelle par le biais de dialogues après les projections, de la sensibilisation des communautés et des écoles afin que notre public puisse s'engager et interagir avec les cinéastes africains sur des questions d'importance personnelle, locale et mondiale.
- Promeut l'échange d'idées et les collaborations entre les praticiens de l'industrie cinématographique américaine et africaine.

The Silicon Valley African Film Festival (SVAFF) promotes an understanding and appreciation of Africa and Africans through moving images. Aptly themed "Africa through the African lens", the film festival celebrates the vast richness of the African Continent through the lenses of Africa's seasoned and emerging filmmakers and, crucially, provides audiences with exquisite lenses to the real Africa.
In fulfillment of its mission, the Silicon Valley African Film Festival:
Curates a world-class festival of African films and provides our audience access to the richness, diversity and vitality of Africa's creative expressions.
Promotes cultural literacy through post-screening dialogues, community and school outreach so our audiences can engage and interact with African filmmakers on issues of personal, local and global significance.
Promotes ideas exchange and collaborations between American and African film industry practitioners.
